Mt. Diablo Half Marathon
The Mt. Diablo Half Marathon is a point to point road race of 13.1 miles held on April 24, 2027, from high on Mt. Diablo into Walnut Creek, California. The course begins near 3,849 ft elevation in Mt. Diablo State Park and descends steadily to a finish at Arbolado Park in Walnut Creek, with a net descent of 3,664 ft.
The route follows quiet park roads, passes through oak-dotted foothills and tree-lined Walnut Creek neighborhoods. The course is closed in park areas and spectators are not allowed there. Four aid stations on course provide water, electrolytes and fruit. Pace teams are offered for finish times from 1:30 to 2:30.
The event is produced by Team Blue Sky Events in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek. The field is capped at 1,344 runners. Entry pricing is organized in three windows: Early Bird $115 through September 30, 2026; Standard $135 from October 2026 through February 2027; Final $155 from March 2027 through race week.
Finishers receive a custom medal at the finish line, and the finish area is located in a park setting in downtown Walnut Creek. The event information describes the start as above the clouds with sunrise views from the summit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
