MRT 2026 5k
The MRT 2026 5k is a running event held at the Statesville Soccer Complex in North Carolina. The event features a standard course distance of 5 km for both general participants and youth runners. This specific race is part of the 2026 Championship Series, which consists of a total of 20 races scheduled throughout the year between January and November.
Participants in the race can earn points toward the Series Championship based on their finishing performance. Points are awarded to the top three overall finishers, the top three masters finishers, and the top three finishers in five-year age groups. All other participants receive a base number of points for completing the race. To qualify for the final series standings, runners are required to compete in at least 12 of the 20 total races.
Additional points are granted to athletes who participate in more than 12 races. Those who complete all 20 events in the series receive bonus points and a complimentary entry for the following year. The series offers prize money for the top five male and female championship winners at the conclusion of the season. Awards are also presented nightly for overall, masters, and age group categories. The event maintains a policy that dogs are not permitted on the course or at the venue.
