10th Annual Iredell County Special Olympics Thanksgiving Turkey Chase
The event is a set of road and greenway races held in Statesville, North Carolina at 2012 Simonton Rd. It includes separate youth and adult categories across short and longer distances and is associated with the Iredell County Special Olympics.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile youth and adult categories
- 5K youth and adult categories
- 10K open and youth categories
Registration windows and fees vary by race. Most events open registration on 12/1/2025 and close on 11/9/2026; the 10K (Youth) closes on 11/11/2026. Published entry fees include $10 for the 1 Mile youth, $14 for the 1 Mile adult and 5K youth, $19 for the 5K adult, $29 for the 10K, and $20 for the 10K youth.
Race operations note that bib pickup takes place onsite at the Soccer Complex. The course runs on greenway paths and on road. Participants are asked to bring canned foods and gently worn shoes or clothes for Fifth Street Ministries and BackPack Ministries. Dogs are not allowed at the event.
