Mountain Man Long Course Triathlons 2026

The Mountain Man Long Course Triathlons take place in Flagstaff, Arizona, at the Upper Lake Mary Boat Launch and Picnic Area. This event is established as the fifth oldest triathlon west of the Mississippi River and is organized by Mountain Man Events. The venue is located along Lake Mary Road and is characterized by high altitude conditions and pine tree landscapes.

Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:

  • Long Course (70.4 miles)
  • Olympic Distance
  • Aquabike (Long Course and Olympic)
  • Relay (Long Course and Olympic)

The competition includes various registration categories such as Age Group, Clydesdale, and Athena. The course utilizes the natural environment of Northern Arizona, featuring clean air and views of Lake Mary. The multisport event is managed as a grassroots, family-run operation. The August edition of this event specifically focuses on the Olympic and Long Course distances, whereas other events in the series held earlier in the summer offer different formats such as Super-Sprint and Sprint distances.

The facility at Upper Lake Mary serves as the central hub for the race start and finish. This location provides access to high altitude training roads and a freshwater environment for the swimming portion of the triathlon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
