Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff Dave McKay Memorial Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk

The half marathon course leaves Thorpe Park, climbs an urban trail onto Observatory Mesa, and follows dirt roads with views of the San Francisco Peaks. Elevation on the course ranges roughly from 6,957 ft at the start to about 7,731 ft near the 7.5 mile mark, with most climbing completed in the first 1.25 miles. The course crew reports 13.1 miles and 5K measured by odometer rather than a Jones Wheel certification.
Half marathon and 5K participants receive a long-sleeved Sweatvac race shirt and free digital race photos. Half marathon finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal and a handcrafted wood carved medallion. Kid's Dash participants receive a medal. The events are walker-friendly; walkers receive a chip time and finisher medal but are not eligible for age division awards.
Packet pick-up is scheduled during the week before the race at local locations including Run Flagstaff and the Fratelli's Party Room, where participants are offered a pre-race pizza dinner.
