2027 Mother's Day 5k, 10k, & 1M
This event at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, VA features three distances and awards that count toward the organizer's Year-Long and Spring series. Distances offered include:
- 1 mile
- 5k
- 10k
The course is fully paved and follows the Rappahannock River. The 5k is an out-and-back route; the 10k repeats the 5k course. The path includes a few small hills and is described as suitable for strollers and children. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are provided: five along the 10k at approximately miles 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2, and two along the 5k near miles 1 and 2.1; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the parking area. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are asked to arrive about one hour before their event to check in. Race day registration is offered, though shirt sizes for same-day registrants cannot be guaranteed.
The event supports Gwyneth's Gift Foundation, which focuses on raising awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Live results are posted online and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
