The Newcastle MoRun takes place at Exhibition Park and supports the Movember charity to raise awareness for men's health. The event features multiple distance options held on a course consisting of tarmac and paths. The routes are flat and open to runners with dogs and those using running buggies, though some sections are described as bumpy. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 1.5 km (Mini MoRun for children)
- 5 km (One lap)
- 10 km (Two laps)
- Half Marathon (Initial 1.1 km loop plus four full laps)
Logistics and Facilities
The event hub is located at Exhibition Park. There is no parking available within the park, so guests are encouraged to use public transport, cycle, or walk. Registration opens in the morning to provide participants with their race packs, which include a race number with a timing chip and a headband. A bag storage area is located next to the registration tents, though space is limited. Toilets are available on-site within the event hub.
Runner Experience
All participants receive a finisher medal and a headband upon arrival. The event is chip-timed, providing instant results for all distances. At the finish line, drinks and snacks such as water and sweets are provided. Additional awards are presented for various categories, including fastest finishers and best costumes. The organizers host a warm-up session with music before the start of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
