North Tyneside 10K Road Race 2026
The North Tyneside 10K is a road race held on 5 April 2026 that follows a coastal and riverside route. The course passes a working Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, and a long stretch of coastline before finishing at St Marys Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.
The event is organised by North Tyneside Council with support from Start Fitness and Clearly Drinks. Chip timing is used and participants receive results by text message; video clips of the race are also made available. Finishers receive a goody bag that includes a race t shirt.
Entry for the 10K is priced at £23. Entrants must be over 16 years of age on race day. The organisers do not permit the use of headphones during the race.
Performance details recorded for recent races include 2025 winning times of 32 minutes 26 seconds for the male category and 37 minutes 31 seconds for the female category, and an overall course record of 30 minutes 26 seconds.
The organiser states that no refunds will be issued. Places may be deferred at the organiser's discretion, but no deferrals will be offered once race packs have been posted. Private transfers of entries are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
