About the Event

The North Tyneside 10k Road Race is a 10 km road running event organized by North Tyneside Council, with support from Start Fitness. Participants must be at least 16 years old on race day.

The route passes several notable landmarks. These include a working Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, and a long stretch of coastline before finishing at St. Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.

Event Details

The event uses chip timing. Participants receive their results by text message, and video clips are available. At the finish line, runners are given a goody bag containing a race t-shirt.

In 2025, the winning times were 32 minutes 26 seconds for men and 37 minutes 31 seconds for women. The overall course record is 30 minutes 26 seconds.

Rules and Conditions

The use of headphones during the race is not permitted. Entry numbers cannot be transferred privately; athletes who run with transferred numbers without permission will be disqualified. Both runners involved may face disciplinary action. All entrants agree to be bound by UK Athletics Anti-Doping Rules.

Entry fees are non-refundable. Deferrals may be possible at the organiser's discretion but are not offered once race packs have been posted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
