Event Information

The North Tyneside 10K Road Race is a 10 km road running event. It takes place on 5th April 2026 and is organized by North Tyneside Council.

The Course

The route is known for its scenic coastal views. It passes a working Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, and a long stretch of coastline. The race finishes at St. Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.

For Participants

Participants must be at least 16 years old on race day. The event uses chip timing, and results are sent via text message. Video clips of the race are available. Runners receive a goody bag and a race t-shirt at the finish line. The use of headphones during the race is not permitted.

The 2025 winning times were 32 minutes 26 seconds (male) and 37 minutes 31 seconds (female). The overall course record is 30 minutes 26 seconds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
