Event overview

The North Tyneside 10K Road Race is a 10K road race on 5th April 2026. The route passes a working Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, a long stretch of coastline and finishes at St. Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay. The event is organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by Start Fitness. Chip timing is used; participants receive results by text message and video clips will be available. Runners receive a goody bag with a race t-shirt at the finish.

The race starts and finishes at Parks Sports Centre, Howdon Road, North Shields, Tyne and Wear, NE29 6TL. Entry for the 2026 race is listed at £23.00. Entries close on 6th March 2026 at 23:59.

Rules and other information

Entrants must be over 16 years of age on race day. The use of headphones is not permitted. No refunds are issued; places may be deferred at the organiser’s discretion, but no deferrals are offered once race packs have been posted. Transferring numbers without permission will lead to disqualification, and private transfers are not permitted after the closing date. UK Anti-Doping rules apply to entrants.
