Event overview

The LSD Back Yard Ultra takes place on 11 April 2026 at West Benridge Farm, Morpeth (NE61 3RZ). The event follows the Backyard Ultra format and is part of the Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra World Championship Association, using the official international rules. Runners complete a loop each hour until only one runner remains; all other competitors are recorded as DNF. Entry prices range from £20 to £85 and the event is open to entrants aged 16 and over on the event date. The last standing winner receives £500 in Start Fitness vouchers; other entrants will receive a finisher item to be announced.

Course and rules

The route runs over farmland, scenic trails, and ancient woodland. The course is described as flat and fast with about 200 ft of ascent and descent per loop and is fully waymarked. Each loop is 4.167 miles (6.7 km) in length and must be completed within the hour to count. Timing is manual. Rules include no late starts, no personal aid during a loop, no artificial aids, and no non-competitors on the course. The winner is the last person to complete a solo loop.

Facilities and camping

The main HQ field provides first aid, toilets, food vendors (payable separately), and a personal camp area. Parking is included for athletes and crew. Athlete camping is included with space for one 3x3 m gazebo or tent per runner. Overflow camping for supporters costs £20 per tent. Well-behaved pets are permitted and closed fire pits are allowed only in the overflow field. Live streaming and free professional photography are provided.
