Morton Pumpkin Classic
The Morton Pumpkin Classic takes place on September 19, 2026 in Morton, IL, at E Jefferson St and S First Ave. The event is sponsored by LIBBY’S Pumpkin and includes both a timed road race and a separate untimed fun run and walk.

The 10K follows a flat course that runs through town to the outskirts of Morton and finishes on Jefferson Street in the heart of the Pumpkin Festival. The 2 mile event is untimed and is intended to reduce congestion at course splits and the finish.
The 2 mile fun run and walk welcomes participants of all ages, strollers, and wheelchairs. Roller blades and pets, including dogs, are not allowed in either event. After the events there is a post race party with beverages, snacks, pumpkin donuts, music, and an area to gather with other participants and family.
Awards and prizes are offered for the 10K: all finishers receive a pumpkin finisher’s medal; top overall male and female receive Morton Chamber Checks valued at $50; the top three men and women in each age group receive a pumpkin pie. Age groups are 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The 2 mile event does not include prizes but includes the post race party and a breakfast coupon for the Pumpkin Pancake and Sausage Breakfast.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday prior at The KILN at Morton Junior High School and limited pickup on Saturday in the 200 block of North First Avenue near the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
