About the race
The Morton Pumpkin Classic takes place in Morton, Illinois on 09/18/2027 at E Jefferson St & S First Ave during the town Pumpkin Festival. The course is described as flat, running through town to the outskirts of Morton and finishing on Jefferson Street in the heart of the festival.
Two event options are offered:
- 10K road race with age group awards.
- 2 Miles untimed run/walk that begins ahead of the 10K.
The 2 mile event welcomes a wide range of participants including strollers and wheelchairs; roller blades and pets including dogs are not allowed in either event. All 10K finishers receive a pumpkin finisher’s medal. The top overall male and female 10K winners receive $50 in Morton Chamber Checks. The top three men and women in each 10K age group (0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) receive a pumpkin pie. The 2 mile fun run/walk does not include prizes but does include access to the post-race activities.
Packet pickup is available Friday evening at The KILN at Morton Junior High School, with limited pickup near the start line on race morning. After the events a post-race party provides beverages, snacks, pumpkin donuts, music, and a breakfast coupon on the race bib for the Pumpkin Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the main food tent.
