The Chocolate Turkey 3 Mile & 1 Mile Walk for Elite
The Chocolate Turkey takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at RC Outfitters on Southwest Water Street in Peoria, Illinois. The event is presented by ShaZam Racing and RC Outfitters in support of ELITE Community Outreach.

The event raises funds for ELITE Community Outreach, a 501c3 based in Peoria. ELITE’s programs work in schools, jails, and on the streets to create economic opportunity, provide second chances, and offer soft-skills job training for people re-entering the workforce.
Packet pickup is available at RC Outfitters on the days before the event and there is very limited pickup on the event day. Race photography is sponsored by ELITE Community Outreach; donors receive their race photos and a race video.
Participants receive event swag while supplies last, including a triblend raglan long-sleeve crewneck shirt, a 3.5 oz solid chocolate turkey, and post-race chocolate treats. Swag is limited to 2500 participants. Awards are provided by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory; overall top male and female receive a special creation apple and age group winners receive award apples in specified divisions.
Courses start near Martinis and finish on Water Street behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Parking is available at various lots along the Peoria Riverfront; participants are asked not to park in the underground garage behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
