The Chocolate Turkey is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026, at RC Outfitters, 311 Southwest Water Street, Peoria, Illinois. The event offers two distances:
- 3 Mile run
- 1 Mile run/walk
The event is organized by ShaZam Racing and RC Outfitters. Title sponsorship is by ELITE Community Outreach and the cocoa and awards sponsor is Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. The race supports Elite Community Outreach, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Peoria; the fundraising goal listed is $5,000.
Courses start near Martinis and finish on Water Street behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Parking is available at various lots along the Peoria Riverfront and on-street downtown; participants are asked not to use the underground garage behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

Race swag is limited to 2,500 participants and includes a triblend raglan long-sleeve crewneck shirt, a 3.5 oz solid chocolate turkey, and post-race chocolate treats, while supplies last. Packet pickup is available the day before at RC Outfitters, with very limited pickup on race day at the same location. Race photography is sponsored by Elite Community Outreach; donors receive race photos and a race video. Awards include overall male and female winners by gun time and age group awards by chip time, with specifics for age divisions listed for each race.
