Morpeth 10K
Morpeth 10K is a closed-road race held in Morpeth, Northumberland, with a junior race on the same day. The main route is a 10 km course that is officially measured and described as predominantly flat. After running through the town and past key local landmarks, the route continues onto a two-lap loop through the surrounding countryside. Elevation gain for the 10K is 57 m.
The event uses two start waves for the 10K to group runners by expected finish time: an A race for sub 40 minutes and a B race for over 40 minutes. A 90-minute time limit applies to allow local roads to reopen. The minimum age for the 10K is 15.
Entries include a unique themed medal, chip-timed results, free race photos, a bag drop and post-race goodies. Water is provided at the 5 km point and at the finish. An event village provides food, drink and finish-line items from partners, and toilets are available there. Race pack collection takes place in the event village on race day; a secure marquee is used for baggage storage and collection is managed using the race number.
Spectators can use the event village or view the course at Potter Bank where runners pass twice on each lap. Pram and wheelchair participants are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
