Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot 2026

The event in Morgantown, West Virginia features a community 5k run and walk plus a separate 800 m kids Turkey Fun Run for children under 12. The 5k course begins on the blue track by the WVU Coliseum, includes nearly a full lap on the track, then proceeds onto Mon Boulevard and through local streets before joining the rail trail. The final approximately 2 miles are on the rail trail, with the finish located behind the Seneca Center at Morgantown Running.

Awards and extras include prizes for the top three male and top three female 5k finishers, awards for the top male and top female 5k walkers, random prize drawings from Morgantown Running, and socks for the first 1000 registrants. Walkers registered in the walking category must remain walking during the event. No dogs are allowed and there are no refunds.

Parking is available at the blue track by the WVU Coliseum or at the Seneca Center. A shuttle provided by Fox Shuttle Service will transport participants between parking areas before and after the event. Online registration closes on November 23. In person registration and packet pick up occur at Morgantown Running the day before the event and at the Shell Building on race morning. Timing is provided by mountaintiming.com. The event supports local fundraising, including Girls on the Run of North Central West Virginia, and accepts donations for Christian Help.
