Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot 2026
This event in Morgantown, West Virginia takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. It offers a 5k run and walk plus a kids 800 m Turkey Fun Run for children under 12.

The 5k course begins on the blue track by the WVU Coliseum, follows Mon Boulevard downhill past Texas Roadhouse, turns onto Boyers Avenue and Leeway Street, passes Sheetz, then joins the rail trail for the final portion to the finish behind the Seneca Center at Morgantown Running. The kids 800 m is two laps around the blue track and will be run in two heats: children under 5 in the first heat and children 5 to 12 years old in the second heat.
Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female 5k finishers, plus top male and top female 5k walkers. Walk entrants must remain walking; those who want to run and walk should register for the run. Organizers will hold random prize drawings and the first 1000 registered participants will receive a pair of socks. No dogs are allowed and no refunds will be issued.
Parking is available at the start or finish and a shuttle will transport participants between those locations. Packet pickup is scheduled at Morgantown Running the day before and on the morning of the event. Timing is provided by mountaintiming.com. Donations of specified clothing and nonperishable proteins for a local charity may be dropped off at Morgantown Running before or on the event day.
