Moran Constitutional Relay : overview
The Moran Constitutional Relay is a two-day team trail relay held at Moran State Park on Orcas Island on 09/19/2026. The event covers a total of 70 miles divided into 12 legs for teams of two to six runners. Teams that complete the entire course receive finisher medals. Each registered team member receives a Moran Constitutional event t-shirt and meals are included during the weekend.
Course, format, and logistics
The course uses park singletrack and other trails, including routes that go to the top of 2,399-foot Mount Constitution. Most trails are described as well-groomed and non-technical; some segments include moderately technical parts and steeper descents. The relay is run in two stages: the first eight legs on Saturday and the final four legs on Sunday. Each team must have each runner complete at least two legs; runners may run consecutive legs. Registration is by team and is limited to the first 50 teams. Each team is asked to provide one volunteer or pay a $195 volunteer fee. Onsite cabin lodging is available at a package price of $59 for two nights, with an optional Sunday night for $35. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
