Moors Valley Wildwood Trail Series Half Marathon & 10K
The Moors Valley Wildwood Trail Series is a trail running event held at Moors Valley Country Park & Forest in Dorset. The event offers two route options:
- Half Marathon - 2 laps
- 10K - 1 lap
Courses use gravel paths through woodland and include muddy sections, inclines, and sections where local wildlife such as deer and birds of prey may be visible. The course is fully marked and supported with aid stations and marshalls. Timing is chip based and results are published online. Event photography is provided and participants receive an eco medal.
The event is dog friendly with a canicross option; canicross places are limited and entrants must select that option if running with a dog. Push-buggies are not permitted. Age restrictions apply: participants must be at least 15 years old for the 10K and 17 years old for the half marathon.
There is parking at Moors Valley Country Park & Forest; parking is chargeable. The nearest rail station is Hinton Admiral, approximately 6.7 miles from the park. The organiser describes the event as eco-friendly, using sustainable materials, avoiding single-use plastic at water stations, and taking steps to protect wildlife habitats.
Volunteer roles are available and include directing runners and staffing aid stations; volunteers are offered free entry into another Wildwood Trail Series event, a long-sleeved T-shirt, and parking cost coverage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
