Event overview
The Montvale Trail Races are scheduled for February 28, 2026 in Montvale, VA (1092 Marketplace Drive). The event offers in-person and virtual options. The in-person field is capped at 225 runners because park parking is limited. Registration opens in late 2025.

Course and logistics
Races are staged from the pavilion at Montvale Park. Montvale Park contains a 6.5 mile trail system through old growth forest. The organizer provides packet pickup on the two days before the race at local businesses and on race morning at the park. The listed course lengths are approximately 5 miles (bike odometer; GPS may read about 4.5 miles) and approximately 8.4 miles (bike odometer; GPS may read about 7.75 miles). A water stop is located at the gravel parking lot on the 8.4 mile course.
Awards and rules
Awards go to the top 3 male and female overall and first-place male and female masters in each race. There are 13 male and 13 female age groups with medals for the top 3 in each group; age brackets start at 14 and under and run to 70 and up. Race rules state that dogs are not permitted, bibs must be worn on the front, marked trails must be followed, and amplified speakers are not allowed on course or in start/finish areas.
