Peaks of Otter Christmas Classic 5k
The Peaks of Otter Christmas Classic 5k is a community running event held in Bedford, VA. The program includes a 5K run and walk and a timed junior one mile race that includes a T-shirt. The event also features a Corporate Cup team component.
The race is dedicated to the previous race director who died in an accident 22 years earlier. Organizers will observe a moment of remembrance and will start the race with the sound of a horn.
Prizes and recognition are given across several categories. A gift card, a medal, and a mug are awarded to the top four men and top four women overall. The top three finishers in each age group receive a medal and a mug. A $25 Top of the Hill award is given to the first man and first woman to reach the hill. In the junior one mile, the first boy and first girl receive a medal and a mug, and every child in the one mile receives a medal.
