Montrose 4th of July 5K & 10K
The Montrose 4th of July 5K & 10K is an annual running event held on Independence Day in Montrose, Pennsylvania. Organized by the Montrose Kiwanis Club and Montrose Lions Club, the event is part of a day-long community celebration. The races take place rain or shine, starting and finishing at 31 Lake Avenue.
Participants can choose between two distances:
- 5 km run or walk
- 10 km run or walk
The registration fee includes a t-shirt for those who sign up by June 15th, although sizes are not guaranteed. Runners who register at least three weeks before the race receive a personalized bib with their name. The event provides live results via text or email, as well as free finish line photos and video.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers and the top male and female in the masters category (ages 40 and older). Division awards are also provided for various age groups, ranging from 19 and under to 70 and older.
Proceeds from the event support various community service projects and programs in the Susquehanna County area. These initiatives include high school scholarships, funding for local libraries and fire companies, and support for food pantries and holiday programs.
