About the race
Ocean Pines Freedom 5K Run/Walk is a community road race hosted at Veterans Memorial Park in Ocean Pines, Maryland. The organizer posts registration details in advance and notes that registration was not yet open at the time of the listing; past event information from July 4, 2026 is available on the event page.
Amenities include T-shirts for all pre-registered runners, live online and text or email results, free finish line photos, and a personalized bib for participants who register at least three weeks in advance. Race-day and early bib pickup are provided; early pickup is scheduled the day before the event at the Ocean Pines Community Center at 235 Ocean Parkway, and day of pickup is available through event staff.
Awards are given to the fastest overall finisher and the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. A trophy is awarded for the best 4th of July costume among race participants. Live results, same-day finish line photos and video are provided after the race.
