Montara Mountain Trail Run
The Montara Mountain Trail Run takes place in San Pedro Valley Park, located in Pacifica, California. This event utilizes the trail networks within a unique environment featuring Coastal Mountain Habitat. Participants run through various local plant life including groves of Huckleberry, Honeysuckle, Lilac, Chinquapin, and Manzanita.
The course design involves climbing sections that provide views of the Pacific Coast. The event features several distinct race distances to accommodate different preferences:
- 10K trail race
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) trail race
- 20 mi (20.7 miles) trail race
- Marathon (26.2 miles) trail race
- 50K (31 miles) trail race
- Kid's Run (50 yard dash) for children ages 6 and younger
- Coastal Testing 2 mile run
The race venue is situated at 600 Oddstad Boulevard. Registration for the primary trail distances typically opens approximately one year in advance and remains available until the week prior to the event.
