About the race
The Monsal Trail October weekend offers a half marathon and a 10k on the former Midland Railway line that runs from Bakewell Station through the Peak District. The event is scheduled for 24 and 25 October 2026 at Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GE.
The route takes runners through four tunnels and across the Monsal viaduct on a traffic free, multi terrain and undulating trail. The course runs along the Monsal Trail and is noted for its surrounding Peak District scenery.

The event takes place on both Saturday and Sunday, with entrants able to enter one or both days. Included with entry are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. On‑the‑day entry fees are listed as £35 for the half marathon and £30 for the 10k, subject to availability.
Race headquarters are at Bakewell Station. There is no general car parking at the station other than for disabled motorists; town centre pay and display car parks are about 500 metres away. Hassop Station, about a mile along the trail, also offers parking, spectator facilities and a café. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
