Monsal Trail October Half Marathon & 10k Weekend
The event takes place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026 at Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GE. The races use the Monsal Trail, a former Midland Railway line that passes through four tunnels and crosses the Monsal viaduct. The course runs on a traffic free trail through Peak District scenery and is described as multi terrain and undulating.
There is a choice of two distances and the races are scheduled on both Saturday and Sunday; entrants may choose one day or both days.

Detailed route maps including GPX files are provided for the course. Included for entrants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. On the day entry fees, where available, are listed as Half Marathon £35 and 10k £30.
Race headquarters are at Bakewell Station. There is no general car parking at the station other than for disabled motorists; two pay and display car parks are about 500 metres from the station. The road to Bakewell Station is a no through road so drop off is not feasible. Additional parking, spectator facilities and a café are available about one mile along the trail at Hassop Station.
