Overview
The Goyt Valley Wild Trail Runs take place in the Peak District, centered around the scenic Goyt Valley northwest of Buxton, Derbyshire. This event marks the first time the organizer has brought these trail runs to this specific area, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Participants navigate a landscape featuring heather moorlands, mature woodlands, and views of the Fernilee and Errwood Reservoirs.
Course Information
The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 7 km short route
- 11 km long route
Both courses are well-signed and pass through forested areas and historical landmarks, including the ruins of the 19th-century Errwood Hall. The terrain consists of natural trails suitable for both running and hiking.
Event Details
The race utilizes live chip-timing services for all participants. The event hub is located at The Street car park in Fernilee. Upon completing their chosen distance, participants receive an event medal, along with a drink and a snack at the finish line.
