Trail Running in the Linacre Valley
The Linacre Infini is a timed trail endurance event held at the Linacre Reservoirs in Derbyshire. The race follows a lapped format where participants aim to complete as many laps as possible within a 6-hour time limit. The course is situated within a wooded valley featuring three reservoirs, offering a scenic environment that changes throughout the seasons.
The route consists of a 5 km lap that is fully marked for navigation. Runners traverse well-maintained trails and footpaths throughout the valley. Due to the terrain, the course includes occasional climbs between the flatter sections surrounding the water. A central checkpoint is located at the start and end of each lap, providing various refreshments.
Available distances:
- 5 km laps (6-hour time limit)
Registration takes place at the event location on Woodnook Lane. Paid car parking is available on-site. The event provides medic cover at both the race headquarters and along the course. At the conclusion of the timing period, every finisher receives a medal, and prizes are awarded to the male and female runners who complete the highest number of laps. The checkpoint serves water, squash, and cola, along with a selection of sweet and savoury food items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
