Mogadishu Mile Kentucky at Queenslake Horse Farm
The Mogadishu Mile Kentucky is an annual tribute and community event hosted at Queenslake Horse Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky. Established in 2021, the event honors the 19 fallen members of Task Force Ranger with 19 permanent engraved limestone memorial stations positioned along a historic limestone wall set within a 140 acres sanctuary that includes a 40 acre lake and wooded trails.
The event combines a tactical fitness crucible and a music festival. The course is a cross country tactical challenge across rolling pastures and timber trails where participants carry issued simulation gear and squad equipment. Rules require teams to maintain custody of gear throughout the course. The ruck division uses a mandatory 35 pound ruck. The movement matrix includes five stations: a BeaverFit rig, synchronized Normandy Beach style pushups, sandbag carries uphill, medicine ball slams, and burpees.
Competition is organized into multiple divisions and four person squad formats for the Mogadishu Cup. The onsite festival element partners with a veteran music therapy program that presents combat veteran performances on a lakeside stage. Family and accessibility features include a scaled mini mile for children with a partner pass program and mobility shuttles offering guided tours of the memorial trail.
