Southern Lights Stroll 5K
The Southern Lights Stroll 5K takes place on November 21, 2026 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky (4089 Iron Works Pike, 40511). The event offers both a competitive 5K run and an untimed 5K stroll along the same course that finishes in the Southern Lights Holiday Village.
The competitive 5K is chip timed by Bluegrass Timing and includes awards for the top three male and top three female overall finishers plus awards across eight age groups. The run begins in front of the Kentucky Horse Park Gate House. A race shirt is included with the registration fee for the adult run and for the adult stroll. Kids 12 and under may participate for free in the designated kids events; a race shirt for children may be purchased for an additional fee.
Registration opens July 20, 2026. Adult registration for the main run and stroll closes July 25, 2026, while children’s registration remains open through the event day for the kids entries. Registration fees listed for the main events are $30.00 for the competitive 5K and $25.00 for the stroll.
Packet pickup is handled at the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor Information Center in the days immediately before and on the event weekend. The Holiday Village at the finish includes seasonal features such as photos with Santa, a peppermint cafe, a mini train, music, and festive lighting.
