Event Overview
The Gobbler Half Marathon, 10K & 5K takes place at Mereworth Farm in West Lexington, Kentucky. This event, now in its 11th year, serves as a fundraiser for the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption charity. The course routes are located within bluegrass horse country, with the start and finish lines situated on the farm grounds.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from several chip-timed distance options:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile course through local horse farms with a 15-minute-per-mile pace limit.
- 10K: A 6.2-mile run or walk on scenic country roads.
- 5K: A 3.1-mile run or walk suitable for various fitness levels.
- Virtual Race: An option to complete any of the distances on an individual schedule and route.
Course Information and Regulations
The routes consist of scenic country roads that pass several area horse farms. Strollers are permitted in the races, but dogs are strictly prohibited because the event takes place on a working horse farm where dogs may disturb the animals. The half marathon has a total time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes.
