Thoroughbred Classic 5K at Keeneland Race Course

The 43rd annual Thoroughbred Classic 5K takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. The event is organized by Bluegrass Runners and donates its proceeds to several local charities. The event welcomes runners and walkers and includes awards and race-day amenities.

Awards include overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Seniors, and age group prizes. Children ages 1 to 9 receive turkey finisher medals when they have an appropriate race bib. The race will be chip timed by BlueGrass Timing.

Registration opens August 1 with a staged price schedule: $25 at opening, $30 starting August 15, $35 starting September 1, $40 starting October 1, and $45 starting November 1. Deadlines include October 12 to include a name on the back of the shirt and October 14 to guarantee shirt size. A team option is available; teams must be registered by November 25 at 11:59 PM to qualify for the largest team prize.

Packet pickup is held at Barn 2, Keeneland Racecourse, 4201 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY, with early pickup on November 24 and November 25 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Race day packet pickup is available beginning at 7:30 AM. Virtual participants may choose mailed shirts; mailed shirts may not arrive until after November 28.

Strollers and dogs require a $5 untimed bib, must start behind all runners and walkers, and are not eligible for medals, shirts, socks, or team competition. No retractable leashes are permitted. No refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
