Thoroughbred Classic 5K : Keeneland, Lexington
The 43rd annual Thoroughbred Classic 5K takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. Organized by Bluegrass Runners, the event draws runners and walkers from across the country and donates its proceeds to several local charities; because proceeds are donated, there are no refunds.
The event includes a team competition, with team registrations required by November 25 at 11:59 PM to qualify for the largest team prize. Registration opens August 1 at $25 and increases in steps to $30 on August 15, $35 on September 1, $40 on October 1, and $45 on November 1. Packet pickup is held at Barn 2 at Keeneland Racecourse, 4201 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY, on November 24 and November 25 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM; race day packet pickup is also available. The race will be chip timed by BlueGrass Timing.
Awards include overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Seniors, and age group prizes. Children ages 1 to 9 receive turkey finisher medals with an appropriate bib. Registrants receive a commemorative long sleeve technical shirt while supplies last, and the first 1,000 participants aged 10 and older are scheduled to receive a pair of PRO Compression socks. Stroller and dog participation requires a $5 untimed bib, must start in the designated area behind other participants, and does not qualify for medals, shirts, socks, or team competition.
