MLVFD Fired Up for the 4th 5K in Mountain Lakes, NJ
The Mountain Lakes Volunteer Fire Department hosts a community 5K event on June 20, held from the Saint Catherine of Siena parking lot at 10 North Pocono Road in Mountain Lakes. The course begins and ends on East Shore Road. Limited parking is available at the church parking lot; additional on-street parking is available on Pocono Road, West Shore Road, and nearby neighborhood streets. Participants are asked not to park on East Shore Road, North Crane, or Crane because those roads are part of the course.
The event has separate registration categories and fees: Non-Public Safety runners and walkers have a registration window from February 10, 2026 to February 28, 2026 with a fee of $35. Public safety entrants and a combined category for military, veterans, and seniors have registration windows beginning February 17, 2026 and closing May 31, 2026 with a fee of $30. Day-of registration, bib and t-shirt pickup for pre-registered participants, music, refreshments, firefighting demonstrations, and the awards ceremony will take place at the far end of the parking lot. Shortly before the race, participants will move as a group to the start line on East Shore Road.
Proceeds will support the fire department by funding firefighting and safety equipment and enhancing training. Awards will be presented to the fastest male and female firefighters, police, EMS, overall runners, and to age group winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
