Event overview
XTERRA Transcend Trail Run takes place on June 20, 2026, in Randolph, New Jersey, at Dickerson Mine Preserve. The start and finish are at Black River Barn, a lakeside venue with outdoor dining. The event includes trail race distances and serves as a qualifier for the 2027 XTERRA Trail Run World Championships. The event is held in all conditions and the organizer states there are no refunds. Finishers may receive a limited edition XTERRA Transcend coffee mug, subject to availability. Age group awards are planned: five year age groups for the half marathon, ten year age groups for the 10K, and top three overall medals for the 5K.
Course, distances and logistics
The trails feature fast, flowy singletrack with lakeside views and some technical sections. The event uses marked loops and provides on-course GPS guidance via RideWithGPS with audio cues.
- Trail Half Marathon (21K) - two 6.8 mile loops
- 10K Trail Run - extended 6.8 mile loop, 400 feet elevation gain per loop
- 5K Trail Run - 3.1 mile loop, 170 feet elevation gain
Main parking is at Black River Barn. Extended parking is available at Education Station for half marathon runners who need extra time. Recommended gear and requirements include a charged cell phone, the RideWithGPS app or GPX file, hydration, at least 200 calories of food, and a whistle. Trail running shoes are recommended.
