Miwok 100K ultramarathon
The Miwok 100K presented by The North Face is a long-running trail ultramarathon held in the Marin Headlands near Stinson Beach, CA. The course covers 62 miles and includes more than 11,000 feet of elevation gain, with terrain that ranges from redwood stands to exposed ridgelines and coastal cliffs.
The event has operated for nearly 30 years and is organized with marked trails, staffed aid stations, and professional medical care at all aid stations. The field is limited to 400 runners and the published time limit for the course is 15 hours and 30 minutes. The race is an official UTMB 2026 Index Race at the 100K level and is a WS100 2027 qualifier.
Entrants are expected to have experience with trail ultras and self-supported effort, to be able to manage steep climbs and fast-changing weather, and to meet intermediate cutoffs used for safety and permit compliance. The event maintains a cup-less, low-waste policy since 2013 and partners with organizations such as 1% for the Planet and Leave No Trace. Through a Bridge to Trails initiative launched in 2020, the organizers work to expand access and representation for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
Registration details, volunteer information, course maps, and aid station cutoffs are published by the organizers. Volunteer service of at least eight hours earns priority registration for the following year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
