About the race
The Miwok 100K presented by The North Face is a trail ultramarathon held in Stinson Beach and the Marin Headlands north of San Francisco. The event covers 62 miles on a single course that includes redwood groves, exposed ridgelines, and coastal cliffs, with over 11,000 feet of elevation gain. The race has a field limit of 400 runners and a time limit of 15 hours and 30 minutes; intermediate cutoffs apply at aid stations to meet permit and safety requirements.
Course and race options are:
- Full race 62 miles
- Relay team of four, limited to 20 teams, with legs of 26 miles, 9.5 miles, 14 miles, and 13 miles
Support includes marked trails, staffed aid stations with professional medical care, volunteer crews, and drop bag/relay logistics. The event operates as a cup-less, low-waste race since 2013 and partners with organizations such as 1% for the Planet and Leave No Trace. The organizer also runs a Bridge to Trails Initiative to increase access and representation for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
The Miwok 100K is a Western States 100 qualifying race for 2028 and a UTMB 2026 Index race at the 100K level. Volunteer service of eight hours or more earns priority registration for the following year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
