Miwok 100K Ultramarathon
The Miwok 100K is a long-standing trail ultramarathon located in Stinson Beach, California. The event takes place in the Marin Headlands, just north of San Francisco, and utilizes trails within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Mount Tamalpais State Park, and Point Reyes National Seashore. The race is limited to a field of 400 runners.
The course covers a total distance of 62 miles (100 kilometers) and includes the following features:
- 100 km: A single-loop course featuring over 11,000 feet of total elevation gain.
Participants encounter varied terrain including redwood forests, coastal cliffs, and exposed ridgelines. The route consists of steep climbs and technical trails with views of the Pacific coast. Because the environment is subject to fast-changing weather conditions, runners are expected to have experience with trail ultras and self-supported efforts.
The event is a cup-less and low-waste race with a total time limit of 15 hours and 30 minutes. Intermediate cutoffs are enforced at aid stations to ensure safety and comply with permit requirements. Medical care is stationed at aid points throughout the course. This race serves as a Western States 100 qualifier and is a UTMB Index Race at the 100K level. Finishers receive a specialized award and race-specific items upon completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
