Service and Sacrifice 5k & Half
The event takes place on November 11 in Georgetown at 3530 Water St NW, Washington, DC. It includes a half marathon and a 5k along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path.

Both courses run on the C&O Canal path, described as a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and an out-and-back layout. Walkers and strollers are permitted. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
The event is chip timed. Registered participants receive a finisher's medal and a technical (Drifit) event shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before October 28; additional shirts are available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. The half marathon has a completion time limit of 3 hours 15 minutes.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack Series, as well as the Fall Series. Live results are posted on Athlinks with a race-day QR code for immediate access; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration. Water stations are provided—seven on the half marathon and one on the 5k—with Gatorade at some locations. Port-a-johns are near check-in. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing table but are left at the owner's risk. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age groups; top three overall finishers cannot also win their age group.
