Mental Health Awareness Run
Mindful Miles is a community running and walking event held in Bowling Green, Virginia, specifically at Town Hall on 117 Butler St. Scheduled for May 2, 2026, the event is held in observation of Mental Health Awareness Month. The initiative aims to foster understanding, break social stigmas, and support emotional well-being within Caroline County and the surrounding region.
Participants can choose from three distinct events:
- 5K: A longer distance run or walk with age group awards.
- Youth 1 Mile: Open to participants between the ages of 3 and 17.
- Adult 1 Mile: Open to participants aged 18 and older.
The 5K event recognizes the top three male and female finishers overall based on gun time, with additional age group awards ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over based on chip time. The 1 Mile events also provide overall awards for the top three male and female finishers, as well as specific age group recognition for children aged 12 and under.
Logistics for the event include two packet pick-up opportunities: one on the Friday prior at the Caroline Family YMCA in Ruther Glen, and one on race morning at Town Hall. Parking is available on the street, at Town Hall, and in lots on Chase Street. Maps for both the 5K and 1 Mile courses are provided for participants.
