Mind Over Miles - Lorain
The Mind Over Miles event takes place in Avon and Lorain, Ohio. This athletic gathering focuses on supporting mental health, recovery, and veterans' suicide prevention. The event offers multiple participation options for runners and walkers of different interests:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
- Kids Dash
The 5K course is chip-timed, while the 1 Mile event is an untimed walk or run. Participants receive a short-sleeved t-shirt and post-race refreshments as part of their registration. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in several age categories, ranging from under 9 to 70 and over.
The event originates from the Goggins 4x4x48 challenge, a concept involving consistent physical activity to raise awareness for mental health causes. The course is dog-friendly, provided that animals are kept on a short leash and participants with dogs line up at the rear of the starting group. Registration is available via pre-registration or on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
