City of Westlake Community Run
The City of Westlake Community Run is organized by the Recreation Department and held on the Westlake Recreation Center grounds at 28955 Hilliard Blvd., Westlake, OH. The event is presented in conjunction with the Annual Safety & Wellness Fair and includes timed and untimed options for participants of different ages.
Distances and formats include:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) timed with chip timing.
- Speed Walk (3.1 miles) timed division with race walking rules.
- 1 Mile Walk untimed.
- Kids Dash (100 yards), free for children 8 years old and under; Kids Dash participants receive a race medal.
Registration opens 6/6/2026 and closes 9/12/2026. Fees listed for the main events are $35 for the 5K events and $25 for the 1-Mile event; children 5 and under are free. Event goodie bags are guaranteed for the first 200 registrants for the main run/walk. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register and select a size by 8/31/2026.
Amenities and event features include post-race refreshments and fruit, raffle prizes with winners announced during the pancake breakfast, awards pick-up at the DJ booth, an inflatable, and a DJ. A pancake breakfast follows the event; each paid registration includes a complimentary ticket and additional tickets are available for purchase. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
