City of Westlake Community Run
The City of Westlake Community Run is organized by the Recreation Department and held in conjunction with the Annual Safety and Wellness Day at the Westlake Recreation Center Grounds, 28955 Hilliard Blvd., Westlake, OH 44145. The event begins and ends on the Recreation Center campus and includes family-oriented activities alongside the runs.
Distances and event types include:
- 5K Run/Walk, chip timed and including a timed Speed Walking division
- 1 Mile Walk, untimed
- Kids Dash (100 yards), free for children 8 years old and under
Registration fees listed for the main events are $35 for the 5K and timed speed walk, $25 for the 1 Mile, and free entry for children 5 and under. Mailed entries must be received by Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register and select a size by August 31, 2026. Event goodie bags are guaranteed for the first 200 registered for the main run and walk.
Event services and amenities include post-race refreshments and fruit, raffle prizes, awards pick-up at the DJ booth, a pancake breakfast with a ticket included for each paid registration, an inflatable, and a DJ. Awards include top overall male and female, top three finishers in 5K age groups, and top three men and women overall in Speed Walking.
