Beach Bunny 5K - Overview

The Beach Bunny 5K is a community event hosted by Fairfield Community Services at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, CT on March 28, 2026. The main race is a 5K (3.1 mi) computer chip-timed run/walk. The event includes additional family activities and children’s programs. Proceeds support future Community Services programs and events.

Events, fees and registration

  • 5K (3.1 mi) : computer chip-timed, chipped bib included with registration.
  • Family Bunny Hop - 0.8 mi : free, untimed family walk; no T-shirt or bib included.
  • Easter Egg Scrambles for children in two age groups : free; participants should bring their own basket.

Registration opens December 1, 2025. Early bird registration pricing applies through January 31, 2026. Regular registration continues after that date. Refunds are not available.

Logistics, swag and awards

Shirts are available; guaranteed sizing ends March 13, 2026. Shirt and bib pickup is scheduled in the week before the event at the Parks & Recreation office, with additional bib pickup on event day. Onsite food vendors and a “Bunny Burrow” event area will feature a DJ, magician, face painters, balloon twisters, a petting zoo and photos with the Easter Bunny. Complimentary water, granola bars and bananas will be available for runners.

Age-group awards (first, second and third) will be edible medallions for multiple age categories. Grand prize cookie platters will be given to the overall fastest Male, Female and Non-Binary finishers. Complimentary parking is available onsite at Jennings Beach; alternative parking locations are listed by the organizer. Course maps are provided for both the 5K and the Bunny Hop.
