Mile High Mile
The Mile High Mile is the 8th annual mile race held at Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado on May 23, 2026. The event brings together a range of participants on the track for an evening program that includes music, athlete introductions, and races under the lights.
The event offers two formats for running the mile. Community Miles are chip timed, provide printed finisher certificates, and use rolling wave starts about every 15 to 20 minutes. This portion is open to all ages and abilities, and includes youth runners. Race day registration is available for those who arrive on the day of the event.
Competitive Heats use Fully Automatic Timing and are seeded by expected pace. These heats may include high school races, open and sub elite fields, masters competition, and designated Elite Women and Elite Men mile races. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and top three women in each competitive heat.
The Mile High Mile takes place during a busy running weekend in the city, alongside other local events. The program progresses from community waves in the afternoon into seeded track meet style racing in the evening, concluding with the fastest competitive mile races of the night.
