MightyMan Montauk Triathlon Festival
MightyMan Montauk is a triathlon festival held on October 4, 2026 at Fort Pond in Montauk, New York. The event offers multiple race formats and a backup swim plan at Navy Beach if water testing shows blue algae in Fort Pond.
Race distances include:
- Olympic Triathlon: Swim 1500 meters, Bike 40K, Run 10K
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750 meters, Bike 17K, Run 5K
An Aquabike option is available where athletes complete the swim and bike portions and then cross the finish line on foot after racking their bike. The swim is an out-and-back in Fort Pond, a freshwater pond with water temperatures typically in the mid to upper 60s; wetsuits are recommended but not mandatory.
The sprint bike course is one loop through Montauk. The Olympic bike is a loop with an out-and-back that passes the Montauk Lighthouse. The run courses use rolling and flat sections; the sprint route goes around the lake and the Olympic route includes an out-and-back around the lake.
Bikes allowed include road, time trial, mountain, or hybrid. Tandem and recumbent bikes are not permitted. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and each participant must have a valid USAT license; non-members must obtain a one-day license. Packet pick-up occurs in the days before the race and athletes must pick up their own packet with photo identification.
Cut-off times are set for each leg. Awards are given in overall, relay, age-group, and special categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
