MightyMan Montauk Sprint Triathlon Festival
MightyMan Montauk is scheduled for October 4, 2026 at Fort Pond in Montauk, NY. The event is a USAT sanctioned triathlon that offers multiple race formats including sprint, aquabike, and relay divisions.
Distances include:
- 750 meters swim
- 17 kilometers bike
- 5 kilometers run
The swim is an out and back in Fort Pond, a freshwater pond with typical water temperatures in the mid to upper 60s Fahrenheit. Wetsuits are recommended but not mandatory. If water testing indicates blue algae, the swim will move to Navy Beach as a backup.
The bike course is one loop through Montauk. Allowed bicycle types include road, time trial, mountain, and hybrid. Tandem and recumbent bicycles are not permitted. The run course combines rolling and flat sections.
Aquabike entrants complete the swim and bike and then rack the bike and cross the finish line for a finish time. Cut off times are 45 minutes for the swim, 90 minutes for the bike from the race start, and 2 hours 20 minutes for the run from the race start.
Participants must hold a valid USA Triathlon license; a one day license fee applies to non members. The event has a no refund policy; entry transfers incur a fee and must be completed at least 30 days before the event. Packet pick up requires photo identification and each athlete must collect their own packet. Parking is available in the public lot next to the IGA or in town with a short walk to the site.
