Middle Fork Trail Run
The Middle Fork Trail Run takes place in North Bend, Washington, starting at the Middle Fork Trailhead. The courses utilize the Middle Fork and CCC trails, featuring routes that follow river valleys with modest elevation gains. Participants run through a landscape characterized by lush forests, old-growth trees, majestic cliffs, and the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River.
The event offers four distinct distances:
- 50k: 50.0 km with approximately 4090 feet of elevation gain.
- 22 miles: 35.7 km with approximately 2390 feet of elevation gain.
- Half Marathon: 21.1 km with approximately 1450 feet of elevation gain.
- 10k: 10.52 km with approximately 810 feet of elevation gain.
The 50k and 22-mile routes include a crossing of Burnt Boot Creek. While the water is typically low enough to wade through, a log bridge is often provided for those preferring a dry crossing. These longer distances also involve segments on forest service roads near Goldmyer Hot Springs.
Aid stations are positioned along the courses to provide water, electrolyte drinks, and various sweet and salty foods such as energy gels, fruit, and bagels. The 50k features five aid stations, the 22-mile has three, the Half Marathon has two, and the 10k has one located at the halfway point.
Parking at the trailhead requires a Northwest Forest Pass. The event is held on open trails shared with other users, and per safety and insurance policies, dogs are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
