Beat The Blerch Seattle
Beat The Blerch is a running event inspired by The Oatmeal, staged at King County's Tolt MacDonald Park in Carnation, Washington. The course consists of a flat, out-and-back gravel trail that passes through evergreen, mossy forests along the Snoqualmie valley trail. Participants in the half marathon and 10 km distances start in waves of approximately 150 to 200 people, spaced a few minutes apart to manage the flow of runners.
The event offers several distance options:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
The route includes multiple aid stations positioned at regular intervals. These stations provide water, electrolyte beverages, and gels. In addition to standard race nutrition, the stations provide Nutella sandwiches and birthday cake. The course remains open until 3:00 pm.
Logistics include a free gear check for participants who provide their own bags. Parking within Tolt MacDonald Park requires a pre-purchased permit, while several free parking options are available outside the park grounds. Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at a location in the Greenlake area of Seattle, or on the morning of the event at the race site.
