Tunnel Light Marathon & Half Marathon - September 13, 2026
The Tunnel Light Marathon & Half Marathon is a downhill road and trail race near Hyak at Snoqualmie Pass, North Bend, WA. The 2026 edition follows an alternate, fully permitted route due to storm damage but retains a fast, scenic profile and a smooth rail-trail surface.
Distances offered
- Marathon: approximately 1,000 feet of net downhill, USATF-certified, Boston qualifier
- Half marathon: approximately 1,000 feet of net downhill, USATF-certified
Course and logistics are organized for speed and safety. The surface is packed gravel suitable for road or light trail shoes. Runners pass through the historic Snoqualmie Tunnel; headlamps are required for tunnel passage. Aid stations are placed every 2–3 miles and provide water, electrolytes, basic first aid, and Honey Stinger gels at select locations.
Finish and return details note a finish at Garcia Trailhead followed by a scenic one-mile walk down Forest Service Road 9020 to shuttle buses. Shuttles return participants to Hyak Sno-Park. Registration opens February 13, 2026 and closes September 6, 2026. Entry amenities include professional chip timing, a custom race bib, a finisher shirt and medal, post-race food, and shuttle transportation back to Hyak Sno-Park.
