Tunnel Light Marathon & Half Marathon : September 13, 2026
The Tunnel Light Marathon & Half Marathon takes place near Hyak at Snoqualmie Pass, North Bend, WA. The event offers both a marathon and a half marathon on a smooth, packed gravel rail trail that passes through the historic Snoqualmie Tunnel. Headlamps are required for passage through the tunnel.
For 2026 the course follows an alternate, fully permitted route because of storm damage. The revised course retains an approximately 1,000 foot net elevation drop and is USATF certified. The marathon remains a Boston qualifier. Aid stations appear every 2 to 3 miles and provide water, electrolytes, basic first aid, and Honey Stinger gels at select locations.
The surface and steady downhill grade make the course suitable for fast efforts. Race services listed for participants include professional chip timing, a custom race bib, a finisher’s shirt and medal, post-race food and festivities, and shuttle transportation back to Hyak Sno-Park. After the finish at Garcia Trailhead, participants walk about one mile down Forest Service Road 9020 to shuttle buses.
