Tunnel Light Marathon & Half Marathon (September 13, 2026)
The Tunnel Light Marathon & Half Marathon is a road and trail event held at Hyak, Snoqualmie Pass near North Bend, Washington. The event offers the following distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
For 2026 the race will follow an alternate, fully permitted route due to severe storm damage. The revised course retains a smooth packed gravel surface and features approximately 1,000 feet of net elevation drop for both distances. Both races will be USATF certified, and the marathon will serve as a Boston Qualifier; certification is finalized after snowmelt in May.
Course highlights include passage through the historic Snoqualmie Tunnel, mountain views and waterfalls on the approach to the finish, and a finish at Garcia Trailhead. After the finish, runners proceed on a roughly one-mile walk down Forest Service Road 9020 to shuttle buses that return participants to Hyak Sno-Park. Headlamps are required for passage through the Snoqualmie Tunnel.
Aid stations are positioned approximately every 2 to 3 miles and provide water, electrolytes, first aid, and Honey Stinger gels at select locations. Registration opens February 13, 2026 and closes September 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT. Race registration includes professional chip timing, a custom race bib, a finisher shirt and medal, post-race food, and shuttle transportation back to Hyak Sno-Park.
