Mersey Tunnel 10K - 11 April 2027
The Mersey Tunnel 10K is a point-to-point road race from Blackstock Street in Liverpool to New Brighton on the Wirral. The route drops onto the approach to the Kingsway (Wallasey) Tunnel, runs for just over 3K inside the tunnel and exits on the Wirral side. The course then follows the Dock Road past the Seacombe Ferry terminal near the halfway point and continues along the promenade overlooking the River Mersey and the Liverpool skyline, finishing on Ian Fraser Walk.
The course includes measured kilometre markers: the tunnel entrance marks 1K with 2K and 3K inside the tunnel; Oakdale Road and a slight downhill appear around 4K; the 5K point and a water station are at the car park behind the Mersey Ferry terminal on Birkenhead Road; a second drinks station is near 7K at the bottom of Manor Road.
Practical details: entrants must be 15 years or over on event day. The race is electronically timed with a timing chip on the back of the race number. Baggage buses transfer belongings from the start to the finish. Race numbers are posted to UK addresses for earlier registrants; overseas or late registrants collect numbers at the race office on race morning. Pacers, identifiable by flags, run at consistent paces along the course.
The start area is on Blackstock Street off Vauxhall Road (postcode L3 6EP). The nearest mainline station is Lime Street, about a 25 minute walk; Moorfields is about a 15 minute walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
