Mersey Tunnel 10K
The event on 11 April 2027 is a point to point 10K that runs largely through the Wallasey Tunnel under the River Mersey, carrying runners from Liverpool to New Brighton. The course starts on Blackstock Street off Vauxhall Road and finishes on Ian Fraser Walk.
The Wallasey Tunnel section covers just over 3K with the tunnel entrance around the 1K marker and 2K and 3K markers positioned inside the tunnel. Runners leave the tunnel via the emergency exit before the toll booths, continue along Oakdale Road with a slight downhill near 4K, pass the 5K point and water station at the car park behind the Mersey Ferry terminal on Birkenhead Road, and encounter a second drinks station near 7K at the bottom of Manor Road.
Entries are open to those aged 15 or over on the day. Race numbers are posted 7 to 10 days before the event; international entrants who do not receive a posted number must collect from the race office on race day. Race numbers include an electronic timing chip on the back.
On-course provisions include two water stations, baggage transfer from the start to the finish, fixed first aid stations near water points, a first aid unit and recovery area near the start and finish, roaming first aiders, finishers' medals, goody bags, and event photography available for purchase. Bone conducting headphones are permitted if kept at low volume. Recycling bins and clothing collection are provided to support event sustainability.
