DAM Race - QUAD 2
This event is the Sharpsville stop in the Mercer County Twilight QUAD, a summer running series now in its 43rd year and described as the region's oldest continuous series. The series has recorded over 50,000 finishers through its first 140 events. Runners who complete all four QUAD events receive a commemorative award; each year more than 150 participants finish all four events.
The Sharpsville event is listed at Thelma's Sports Nook, 255 East High Street, Sharpsville, PA. The Dam Race course is an out and back that crosses the Shenango Dam causeway, with a turnaround on a paved rails to trails road. Other QUAD events include races in Fredonia and Grove City.
Race operations and timing use chip timing with timing mats at miles 1, 2, and 3 to provide split times. Awards for 5K events include top five male and female overall finishers, top masters male and female, and top three in each age group with no duplications. Age group categories span from 11 and under up to 70 plus. The event is open to runners and walkers. A half mile children’s run is included at each event; each youth participant receives a finisher ribbon and youth awards cover ages 5 and under through 10 to 11.
Specialty QUAD shirts are available on site on a first come first serve basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
