Mercer County Twilight QUAD : DAM Race - QUAD 2
The Mercer County Twilight QUAD is a four-event summer race series in Mercer County, presented in its 43rd year. The series is described as the region's oldest continuous running series and has recorded more than 50,000 finishers through the first 140 events. Runners who complete all four events receive a commemorative award; each year more than 150 participants complete the full series.
This event entry is part of the QUAD series and includes on-site specialty QUAD shirts available for purchase on a first come first serve basis. All 5K events are chip timed with timing mats at miles 1, 2, and 3. Results and a digital clock display are provided by THE RUNNER'S HIGH. The event is open to runners and walkers, with no separate awards for a walking division.
Race courses and locations vary by event. The DAM Race course crosses the Shenango Dam Causeway and uses an out-and-back layout with a paved rails to trails turnaround. The other QUAD 5K courses are described as out-and-back rolling courses with a gradual half mile downhill finish.
Children's races are included at each event. Each includes an approximately half mile run, a finisher's ribbon for every participant, and awards for top finishers in age groups 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11. Youth QUAD is intended for children 11 and under.
Registration notes indicate a base 5K entry fee of $20 until 24 hours before the race and a higher fee on race day. Base entry includes refreshments, results, and race entry. Race clothing is sold separately. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
