Twilight QUAD / Strawberry Days 5K
The Twilight QUAD is a four-race summer series in Mercer County marking its 43rd anniversary. The series is described as the region's oldest continuous running series and is held on Wednesday evenings during the summer months. Over 50,000 finishers have been recorded through the first 149 events.
Distances
- 5K races at four locations
- 0.5 mile children’s run at each event
The first event, Strawberry Days 5K, is held in Grove City with a new start and finish at the soccer field parking area, 660 North Liberty Rd. That race uses the same bike trail as prior years and features a 3/4 mile loop of the bike trail, a 1.75 mile counterclockwise loop around the sewage plant, then a repeat of the bike trail loop. The course is noted as the flattest in the series.
Other events include the Dam Race in Sharpsville on a causeway crossing, the Fredonia 5K downtown on an out-and-back rolling course with a gradual half mile downhill finish, and the Courtney's Ice Cream Race in Grove City, a USA Track and Field certified 5K with an out-and-back rolling profile and gradual half mile downhill finish.
All 5K events are chip timed with timing mats at miles one, two, and three to provide split times. Runners who complete all four events receive a commemorative award. Specialty QUAD shirts are available on site on a first come first serve basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
