SHS XC Glow the Distance
SHS XC Glow the Distance is an evening community fun run on June 13, 2026 in New Castle, Pennsylvania at 2550 Ellwood Rd. The event was planned by members of Shenango High School cross country to promote a healthy lifestyle, community bonding, and appreciation of the township.
The course is comparable to a 5K and follows a fun path that highlights the high school and the township park. Ambient lighting will be placed along the route. Participants assume all risk for the course. Every finisher will receive a medal. Age categories for awards are 11-15, 16-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 61 plus; top three finishers in each category will earn medals.
Registration fee is $35. Registrations before May 22 receive a free T-shirt. T-shirt sizes offered include Youth XS through XL and Adult Small through XL. The event program includes a Zumba warm up, a DJ, kids facepainting, and other activities. The run takes place outdoors and will not be cancelled for unexpected weather. No refunds will be given. All profits will support the Shenango XC team for uniforms, team events, and related needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
