SHS XC Glow the Distance
SHS XC Glow the Distance is an evening community fun run in Shenango Township, New Castle, Pennsylvania. The course follows a planned path through the township and highlights the high school and the township park. Ambient lighting will line the course. Every participant receives a medal upon completion. Top three finishers within each age category will also earn medals.
Age categories used for awards are 11-15, 16-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 61+. Participants assume all risk for the course. The event is outdoors, will not be cancelled for unexpected weather conditions, and there are no refunds.
Registration information provided by the organizer lists a fee of $35. Registration opens February 26 and closes June 12. Registrations completed before May 22 include a free T-shirt. Available T-shirt sizes are Youth XS through XL and Adult Small through XL.
Extras at the event include a Zumba warm up, a DJ, kids facepainting, and other activities. Proceeds from the event will go to the Shenango cross country team for team needs such as uniforms and special events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
