Event overview
The Memorial Day Trail Race is a weekend trail running event held on a Saturday during Memorial Day weekend in May 2026. It is the third race of the Southeastern Trail Series and takes place at the Belcher Tract area of Oak Mountain State Park near Pelham, Alabama. The event offers packet pickup and late registration the day before and the morning of the race.
Course and logistics
The event features trail courses that pass Belcher Lake, Demopolis Lake and Summit Lake. Sections of the route follow Belcher Road, a gravel road that runs from the top to the bottom of the mountain and crosses the ridge above Demopolis Lake. The race is timed using ankle HUTAGS. A parking fee of $5 is charged at the park entrance; the main lot near the north entrance holds about 50 cars with overflow parking at North Shelby Baptist Church. Tailwind hydration drinks are provided at aid stations. A preview run on the course is organized by Resolute Running, date to be announced.

Awards
Place awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age-category awards include Masters (40-49), Grand Master (50-59) and Ultra Grand Master (60+).
