Event Overview

The Memorial Day Trail Run takes place on Saturday, May 24, 2026, as part of Memorial Day weekend. It is the third race in the Southeastern Trail Series. A new course has been introduced.

Distances and Location

The event offers two distances: a 6 Miler and a 12 Miler. The race starts at the iron gate at the north entrance to the Belcher Tract, just off Highway 280 at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. There is a $5 per person parking fee at this entrance, requiring exact change.

Schedule and Registration

Packet pickup and late registration are available on Friday, May 23, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM at a location to be determined. On race day, packet pickup and late registration are available from 6:45 to 7:45 AM at Oak Mountain State Park, following posted "Race Arrow Signs." Registration closes on Wednesday, May 20. The shirt order cutoff is Friday, May 9; registrants after this date are not guaranteed a shirt but may check for extras after the race. Active military personnel can run free of charge by presenting a military ID at packet pickup and using a specific coupon code during registration.

Awards

Place awards are given out as runners finish. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are given for Masters (40-49), Grand Masters (50-59), and Ultra Grand Masters (60+). The 6-mile race also has awards for male and female participants aged 14 and under.
