Memorial Day Run & March
Memorial Day Run & March is a community event in Colorado Springs held Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at America The Beautiful Park. The event welcomes civilians, Veterans, and uniformed Military and supports local homeless Veterans through food donations and registration proceeds.
Participants can choose from three route options:
- 5K: Run or ruck, 3.1 miles
- 10K: Run or ruck, 6.2 miles
- 30K: Ruck only, 25 pound rucksack of nonperishable food required
All participants receive a timing bib and routes are chip timed. The 30K Ruck March requires carrying a 25 pound rucksack filled with nonperishable food that will be donated, and participants must finish within the allotted time. Kids 12 and under receive free entry to the fairgrounds; shirts, timing bibs, and medals are not included for free entries.

Dogs are permitted on the routes if leashed and cleaned up after, but dogs are not allowed inside the event center. Headphones are permitted but participants are asked to keep volume low and stay alert to course staff and signage.
The Memorial Day Run & March is organized by the Special Forces Foundation in partnership with Mount Carmel Veterans Service Center. Collected food is distributed to local veteran organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
