The Memorial Day Run & March is organized by the Special Forces Foundation and takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at America The Beautiful Park in Colorado Springs, CO (126 Cimino Dr). The event supports local Colorado Veterans; the organizer states that 100% of registration proceeds benefit local veterans. Since 2015 the event has collected about 205,000 pounds of food donations. All routes are chip-timed and participants receive timing bibs.
Routes, donations, and rules
- 5K - Run or ruck option; route runs alongside the 30K ruck march.
- 10K - Run or ruck option; longer route alongside the 30K ruck march.
- 30K - Ruck only; participants must carry a 25 lb rucksack filled with non-perishable food.
Kids 12 and under receive free entry to the fairgrounds; free entry does not include a timing bib, shirt, or medal. Dogs are allowed on the routes but are not permitted inside the event center; dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome, though some course sections are unpaved. Headphones are allowed if volume is kept low. The event provides course staff, water stations, First Aid kits, medical personnel, and golf cart support for participants who need assistance. Uniformed military participants must wear ACU or service-equivalent uniforms; distinctive unit T-shirts are authorized underneath the uniform.
