Rattler Trail Race
The Rattler Trail Race takes place in Palmer Park, a city park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event is designed to showcase the local trail system, featuring a landscape of sandstone bluffs and unique rock formations. From the course, participants can see panoramic views of the city and Pikes Peak.
The event offers four distinct distances on technical singletrack trails:
- 50K: A two-loop course covering approximately 3,838 feet of elevation gain.
- 25K: A single loop with approximately 1,919 feet of elevation gain.
- 10K: A shorter route with 699 feet of elevation gain.
- 5K: The shortest distance, featuring 397 feet of elevation gain.
The trails are located at an elevation between 6,224 and 6,598 feet. While the total elevation gain is considered minimal by the organizer, the terrain is characterized by its technical nature.
This is a cupless event, meaning participants must bring their own reusable cups or hydration systems. Water dispensers are available at the start, finish, and all aid stations to refill bladders and bottles. All participants receive a custom race shirt and a finishers' medal. The start and finish lines are located near the pavilion and baseball diamonds at 3560 Maizeland Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
