The Memorial Day Flag Run takes place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Black Canyon City Trailhead, 34580 Old Black Canyon Hwy, Black Canyon City, AZ 85324. The event is hosted by Gut Check Fitness. Distances offered:

- 10K Run
- 5K Ruck
- 10K Ruck
Entry fees listed are $39 for the 5K events and $49 for the 10K events. Prices increase after December 30, 2025.
Course and race information
Both courses are out and back on the Black Canyon Trails. Ruck options require a 35 lb rucksack; running or hiking without a rucksack is also permitted. This is a cupless event to reduce waste, so participants should bring a handheld water bottle or a Camelbak bladder. Emergency water will be available on course; water stations are staffed by US Marine Veterans and may include a short physical task, such as burpees, to receive water. Organizers note that conditions could be hot and advise appropriate clothing.
Charity
All donations and a portion of proceeds will go to the Anthem - Daisy Mountain Veterans, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2012. The organization focuses on honoring and supporting veterans, active duty service members, and their families, and on community and youth programs related to Americanism and service.
