Event overview
The event is a 50K trail race held on Sunday, December 13, 2026 in Virginia Beach, VA. The course is a two-loop trail run at First Landing State Park that begins and ends at the boat ramp on 64th Street. The race is open to entrants aged 18 to 100. Online registration opens July 1, 2026. There is no race-day registration.
Course and support
Two full aid stations are located at 64th Street and Bald Cypress. Aid stations provide various foods, water and Tailwind, and runners will pass each station multiple times. This is a cupless race; runners are advised to carry water bottles and a collapsible cup.
Time limits, awards and amenities
There is an 8-hour finish time cutoff and additional cutoff restrictions are enforced at points on the course. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three masters male and female, and top male and female in the 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+ age groups. Registrants receive a Brooks shirt and finishers receive a medal. A post-race party will be held at Smartmouth Brewery Pilot House, 313 32nd St., where two beer tickets and pizza will be provided to runners and volunteers.
Registration, packet pickup and policies
Entry fees are listed on the event page. Packet pickup is available the day before at Running Etc. Virginia Beach, 1940 Laskin Rd. #302, and on race day at the start/finish area. Refunds are subject to a $25 admin fee until the stated deadline; no transfers or deferrals are allowed. Volunteers receive a shirt and one beer ticket (21+).
