Event Information
This event is a 50K trail run held in First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach. The course consists of two loops starting and finishing at the boat ramp.
Course and Support
Two aid stations are located at 64th Street and Bald Cypress, providing food, water, and Tailwind nutrition. Runners will pass each station multiple times. This is a cupless race, so participants must carry their own water bottles or a collapsible cup.
Registration and Logistics
The entry fee is $100, increasing to $125 after September 1. A $5 discount is available for members of the Tidewater Striders running club. Online registration closes on December 10, 2025, or when slots fill. There is no race-day registration. Participants must be 18 years or older. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Running Etc. in Virginia Beach and on race day at the start/finish area.
Awards and Amenities
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three Masters male and female finishers, and the top male and female finishers in age groups 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. All registrants receive a Brooks shirt, and all finishers receive a medal.
Post-Race
A post-race party with pizza and two beer tickets for runners and volunteers is held at the Smartmouth Brewery Pilot House.
Time Limits
An 8-hour time limit is enforced for an official finish, with specific intermediate cutoffs throughout the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
