2027 New Years Day 5K
The event is a community 5K road race held on January 1, 2027 at Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The course map is available from the organizer and will be posted for participants.
This race is part of the MCRRC low-key race series. It is free for MCRRC members; members do not need to register for individual low-key races but must obtain a 2026 bib and chip in advance. Runners with older chips may exchange them for a 2026 bib and chip; new members who do not have an older chip are asked to bring a five dollar chip deposit. Non-members may register for a fee of twenty two dollars for participants age 18 and over and eleven dollars and sixty cents for participants under 18; these fees include registration and processing.
Race-day bib and chip pickup will take place near the start area, with volunteers available to assist. Online registration for non-members will remain open through race start. Monetary refunds will not be provided to non-members, but registrations can be transferred to another MCRRC low-key event by contacting the club.
The race partners with Manna Food Center. Participants may bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to support Manna’s mission of food distribution, education, and advocacy. Volunteers are needed to staff the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
