McKinney Historic Half
The McKinney Historic Half is a community road event in McKinney, Texas, presented by BMW and hosted by TUPPS Brewery. The event features multiple race distances that follow routes through the city’s historic downtown, nearby neighborhoods, parks and trails. Proceeds benefit Scottish Rite for Children of Frisco.
Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- Kid’s 100 meter Dash
Participant features include a cotton blend short sleeve participant shirt, personalized race bib for registrations completed by February 28, a finisher medallion for all finishers, and a long sleeve performance finisher shirt for half marathon finishers. The event offers a post race party with music, food, beverages and a complimentary finisher beer for participants age 21 and older. An optional iTAB medal personalization is available for a fee of $15 and is mailed after the event.
The half marathon includes pacers provided by the Dallas Running Club who run even splits to help athletes reach target finish times. The event follows guidelines from USA Track & Field and Wheelchair Sports USA; only runners, walkers and wheelchair participants are permitted on course. Participants in the half marathon must be at least 16 years old. Course maps for the current edition are in development and the organizer reserves the right to change the course as needed.
